There's lots to report in this issue of the club newsletter. First
of all, included in this issue are photos from the 2002 Classic
Chevy Weekend in Amherst, TO FOLLOW SOON
which was in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the founding
of our club. Since our beginning in February 1981, we have seen
many members join our ranks.. While some have moved away or found
other interests, a look at our Membership Roster shows that numerous
members have been with us since the early days.
The event weekend featured a wide selection of neat vehicles. Although
our club's constitution defines club vehicles as '55-'57 Chevrolet
products only, we recognize that many members also own other collectable
cars as well, and we welcome them at any of our events too. As a
result, our event weekend included such cars as Dave Clark's '40
Willys street rod, Bob Reid's '64 409 Biscayne, and other cool rides
too The '55-'57 Chevvs were well represented of course, and although
the numbers were down a bit from our goal, the results still were
nothing to sneeze at.
Also in this newsletter is an article by Mike
Chambers on his most recent acquisition. Although I don't have
any photos, I'm sure that we'll get some of the finished product
in the not-too-distant future.
I mentioned the Club Roster. Included with this issue is an updated
roster for, your information. Please look over the information listed
for you and your fellow members and let me know of any errors or
omissions that you may find. A new roster will be published in 2-3
months' time, so please try to provide me with any, corrections
before then. I would especially like to get email addresses for
as many members as possible, which will allow us to get information
out that much quicker.
If you don't have email, don't worry, as we will still be mailing
out or phoning; the information to those people not online, and
the newsletter will still be sent out by 'snailmail' for the near
future. However, a long term goal is to offer the newsletter online
for all members who have Internet access. This will cut costs: for
the club, provide a full-colour product to increase viewing pleasure,
and improve the timely flow of information to our members. This
goal is tied in with improving our current website with additional
photos and info,
